Hazel May Harpel, 88, died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday in the Lane House Nursing Care Center where she had resided two years. She was a member of the Christian Union Church and received her education in Montgomery County schools. Miss Harpel was born in Waynetown Township (sic) on Jan 13, 1897, a daughter of Andrew Douglas and Cora Fruits Harpel. She is survived by two brothers, Donald and Walter of Rt 1, Crawfordsville; a sister, Faye Cruea of Crawfordsville and nieces and nephews. A brother and sister are deceased. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Brigman officiating. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3-8 p.m. Thursday. - kbz
